8848 training is about getting in great shape to handle life’s daily challenges or as a foundation on which to then specialise in your chosen sport. We use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells and our own bodyweight to get stronger. We run, jump, row and skip rope to get fit. This is done in a group setting under the watchful eye of a qualified coach who will guide and motivate you. Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle or just improve your general health and fitness 8848 will get you there.
Every workout session is different. Some workouts are time-based, meaning you continue to workout until the time is over. Other workouts are designed to develop strength by lifting a certain amount of weight for a specific amount of reps. Some workouts you will do with a partner, literally sharing the load and pushing each other on.
Your CrossFit journey begins with a Free Intro session. This is an opportunity for you to see our facility, meet our Coaches and experience what CrossFit is all about. From here your journey will progress onto our Elements Program: 3 Private Training sessions that you will do alone or in a small group. You’ll learn to squat, press, deadlift, do pull ups and push ups and some elementary gymnastics exercises. You’ll learn how to make progressions in each movement from beginner to more advanced, and try out some real CrossFit workouts (modified for beginners.)
The Elements Program is our introductory handshake to the CrossFit world. It’s like bootcamp with brains: you learn new things every session, and then do a simple (but not easy) workout. The Coaches are extremely well-educated, pleasant people who smile big while they’re motivating you. They care: they want you to find the passion for functional fitness that they’ve found (and millions of others around the world, too.). Our Elements Program is 3 x 60-minute Personal Training sessions geared to get you ready for CrossFit and are scheduled to fit in with your busy schedule. The Elements Program is included in your first month membership.
Hungry for more? Once you have completed the Elements Program then you are ready for our CrossFit classes. These classes are held at a wide variety of times throughout the day and we have classes 7 days a week (check the timetable page for more details). 8848 Youth Program is a training program designed to effectively teach strength and conditioning methodology to children aged 9 to 14 years old through age appropriate instruction and cueing.
Our Group CrossFit sessions are designed to meet the needs of our large and varied community. When it comes to achieving specific goals, nothing beats personal training.
This program is for pre-schoolers and is held twice a week for 45 minutes. Our aim is to keep to the youngsters engaged with structured games and movement.
